At Links London, we continue our mission to rediscover and rehome the final treasures produced by the original Links of London before the brand’s closure in 2019. Today’s find is particularly poignant: the Narrative Long Ring — a polished silver piece that exemplifies the minimalism and meaning of the late-stage Narrative Collection.
📦 A Lost Piece of Legacy
This piece was never sold in-store. It came directly from New Old Stock (NOS) — sealed in its original branded stock bag, complete with silver-guard paper and a part number label (5045.5574). It’s untouched by retail handling, yet gently aged by time, making it a pristine representation of Links of London’s final craftsmanship.
💍 Designed to Tell a Story — Or Stay Silent
The Narrative Long Ring was part of a broader collection built around storytelling and personalisation. Each piece featured clean-lined plaques bordered by soft silver ‘bubbles’. Many pendants, bangles, and discs were engraved with initials, dates, or sentiments. However, this ring—with its 26mm x 4.5mm plaque—was often left unengraved, intended as a polished companion piece to be worn alone or layered with other styles.

🧾 What the Hallmarks Reveal
As with other pieces from the final production run, this ring carries a laser hallmark from the Edinburgh Assay Office — not London — and an unusual ‘RV’ sponsor’s mark instead of the earlier ‘LL’. This suggests the hallmarking may have occurred post-liquidation, potentially under the oversight of the administrators.

To properly document the ring’s story, we’ve photographed and filmed the piece in our studio. The accompanying short video offers a 360° view, highlighting the ring’s proportions, hallmark, and polished finish. While the ring showed a light trace of tarnish from age, we’ve preserved its finish — no machine polishing or restoration was required.
