At Links London, we don’t just sell jewellery—we restore, catalogue, and celebrate the pieces that made the original Links of London so iconic. Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes as we photograph and film one of our most fabulous favourites: the Rainbow Zebra Charm.
🦓 Not Your Average Zebra
This isn’t a typical zebra. Finished in rainbow-coloured enamel stripes on sterling silver, the charm is whimsical, rare, and full of character. Our first piece sold to a customer in Hong Kong and was one of the first international orders placed after our site relaunched in December 2024.

📸 Photographing the Charm
We used our lightbox and iPhone setup to photograph the newly polished zebra, aiming for an accurate but vibrant representation. Image editing brought out the contrast without compromising authenticity—an important standard for vintage pieces in our Vault Collection.

🎥 Experimenting with Product Video
We used a simple rotating turntable and tested filming both in our standard lightbox and the larger Lastolite tent. After refining exposure and stabilisation, the final footage looked clean and professional, with a white background ready for ecommerce or YouTube content.

🧠 Exploring AI Video & Zebra Magic
From product video, we pushed further into creative territory—using AI tools to generate visual effects, title transitions, and even scenes of a rainbow zebra walking through London. We explored how this content could be used for storytelling, YouTube Shorts, and potential campaign intros.

🎯 What We Learned
- ✅ White backgrounds still perform best in search and ecommerce
- ✅ Tripods improve product video dramatically for small items
- ⚠️ AI video is stunning—but not always accurate or usable commercially
- ⚠️ Be cautious about using AI visuals directly in product pages—they can misrepresent items
