Vintage Links of London Horseshoe Stirrup Ring – Equestrian Heritage Design

Links of London’s equestrian-inspired designs have long held a special place in the brand’s history, and the Horseshoe Ring with Stirrup-Style Shoulders is a perfect example. More intricate than the simpler lucky horseshoe bands, this version blends classic British racing heritage with distinctive silver craftsmanship.

A Nod to Ascot

During the mid-2000s and early 2010s, Links of London deepened its association with Royal Ascot by creating jewellery inspired by the world of racing. The horseshoe symbolised luck and protection, while the stirrup-style shoulders added unmistakable equestrian character.

This vintage piece features a solid sterling silver open horseshoe front measuring approximately 10 mm high and 10 mm wide. The shoulders split out to echo stirrup leathers, connecting to a rounded shank that measures about 2.5 mm wide. The inside of the shank bears the classic Links of London logo and is hallmarked “LL 925”, a sign of authenticity for late-period production.

Design Details

  • Material: Solid 925 sterling silver, polished finish
  • Horseshoe Face: 10 mm high × 10 mm wide × 2 mm thick
  • Shank: 2.5 mm round profile with stirrup-style shoulders
  • Ring Size: UK size J½
  • Hallmarks: Inside shank: “LL 925” and Links of London logo

Unlike the minimal horseshoe bands, the stirrup-style links on the shoulders give this ring its signature silhouette. These extra details reflect the subtle equestrian references that Links of London wove into its Ascot-inspired collections over the years.

A True Heritage Piece

Today, rings like this are increasingly rare, as collectors and racing enthusiasts alike look for authentic pieces from Links of London’s original era. Professionally cleaned and polished, this vintage example retains its bright finish with light natural signs of age. It’s a beautiful example of how the brand balanced playful motifs with understated British luxury.
