The original Links of London charm range repeatedly turned familiar everyday objects into small pieces of sterling silver jewellery, and product reference 5030.0458 takes one of the most recognisable gaming symbols of all: a pair of dice.
The design consists of two miniature three-dimensional sterling silver dice, each hanging independently so that they move against one another when the charm is worn.
Black enamel defines most of the numbered pips, while the single pip on each die is picked out in red enamel, introducing a small but distinctive colour detail into the polished silver design.

Two Miniature Sterling Silver Dice
Each die measures approximately 6mm × 6mm × 6mm.
At this scale, the form remains immediately recognisable while still being compact enough for bracelet or necklace wear. The six polished faces are differentiated by their enamelled pips, preserving the familiar visual language of a conventional die.
The two dice are separately articulated rather than fixed together. This gives the charm movement and allows the cubes to change position naturally as the jewellery is worn.

Black Enamel with a Red Number One
Most of the recessed pips are filled with black enamel, creating a strong contrast against the polished sterling silver.
The single pip is treated differently, using red enamel instead. It is a small detail, but one that immediately distinguishes the charm from a straightforward miniature reproduction of ordinary dice.
The combination of silver, black and red gives product 5030.0458 a particularly graphic appearance despite its very small proportions.

Original Product Reference 5030.0458
The original Links of London product reference for this design is 5030.0458.
The exact catalogue title and original retail price have not yet been recovered, so Pair of Dice Charm is used here as a clear descriptive name based on the surviving design.
Other dice designs appeared within the wider Links of London charm range, including later single-die and heart-detailed variations. Product reference 5030.0458 should therefore be treated as its own distinct two-dice design rather than grouped indiscriminately with every Links of London dice charm.

A Surviving 2010 Hallmarked Example
A surviving example documented by Links London is hallmarked LL, 925 with a date letter for 2010.
The hallmark dates that particular charm rather than establishing the original launch year of product reference 5030.0458.
This distinction is important because Links of London designs frequently remained available across multiple years and can survive with different hallmark dates.

Movement and Vintage Wear
The independently suspended dice are central to the character of the design, but their movement also naturally causes the two cubes to make contact with one another.
On the surviving 2010 example, this has resulted in numerous small light marks across the polished silver surfaces. The charm has been professionally cleaned and polished, but these fine contact marks remain visible as evidence of normal use.
There is no significant damage, and the black and red enamel details remain intact.

A Playful Links of London Design
Product 5030.0458 is a good example of the playful side of the Links of London charm range.
The subject is immediately familiar, the scale is compact, and the independently moving dice add a tactile quality beyond the visual design alone.
The contrasting red single pip is particularly effective: a very small change to an everyday object that gives the charm its own identity.
