This vintage Links of London trinket box is formed as a compact round sterling silver box with a fitted hinged lid inset with mother of pearl. The lid has a shallow concave dish form rather than a flat top, which gives the piece a dual character as both a small lidded box and a small trinket dish when viewed from above. The contrast between the polished silver body and the softly iridescent mother-of-pearl surface gives the design a clean but distinctive presence.
The box measures approximately 69mm in diameter and 22mm in overall height. The base section is approximately 18mm deep, although the concave dish form of the lid reduces the internal depth at the centre. The lid hinges open in the usual way but does not open fully, stopping at approximately 30 to 40 degrees, as shown. The proportions make it suitable for use as a small trinket box, keepsake box or decorative table object.
This example is hallmarked on the base LL and 925 and carries a date letter for 2005. It has been left in unrestored vintage condition and shows many light marks and scratches across the surface, together with a small dent at the back by the hinge and a notably scuffed base. Even so, it remains an attractive vintage silver box, with the mother-of-pearl lid and simple circular form still presenting well.
As a Links of London silver object, the piece sits slightly apart from the house’s jewellery lines, reflecting instead its quieter tradition of small personal accessories and gift objects. The combination of sterling silver, mother of pearl and the unusual concave lid gives it a more distinctive character than a plain circular box, while the visible wear preserves its genuine vintage presence.
