This vintage Links of London Letter A charm belongs to the Classic Serif Alphabet series, a design family distinguished by its more traditional letterforms and crisp serif detailing. Formed in sterling silver, the charm presents a well-balanced capital A with clear horizontal serifs and a slightly more formal typographic character than the house’s plainer alphabet styles.
The letter itself measures approximately 11mm high, 15mm high including the jump ring, 11mm wide and 2.5mm thick. These proportions give the charm enough presence to read clearly on a bracelet or necklace while still sitting comfortably among other pieces. The design is straightforward and architectural, relying on the strength of the letterform rather than embellishment.
It is fitted with the standard Links of London oval bail measuring approximately 9mm by 7mm, suitable for bracelets or necklaces up to around 5mm wide. This example is hallmarked LL and 925 and carries a date letter for 2010. It is also supplied with a split ring for Sweetie bracelet attachment, making it equally suited to classic charm wear or to use as a pendant on a fine chain.
This charm has been professionally cleaned and polished and is now in great vintage condition. The silver presents brightly, and the serifed letter remains crisp and well defined. As part of the Classic Serif Alphabet series, it offers a more formal and typographically distinctive interpretation of the initial charm, while still retaining the ease and personal quality that made Links of London alphabet pieces so enduring.
