This vintage Links of London elephant charm is formed as a small sterling silver elephant with a raised trunk and textured body, giving the piece a clear sculptural character despite its modest scale. The design is neatly modelled, with the trunk, ears and stance all clearly defined, while the surface linework suggests the folds and texture of the animal without overworking the form. It is an immediately recognisable animal charm, handled with the controlled styling typical of Links of London silver pieces from the period.
The charm measures approximately 15mm in length, 9mm in height, 14mm in height including the jump ring, and 8mm in width. It is fitted with the standard Links of London oval bail, measuring approximately 9mm by 7mm, which will take a necklace or bracelet up to approximately 5mm wide. Supplied with a split ring, it can also be attached to a Sweetie bracelet.
This example is hallmarked LL and 925 and carries a date letter for 2009. The silver has been professionally cleaned and polished and remains in good vintage condition. The detailing remains clear, and the charm retains the compact, well-defined profile that gives the design its character.
As a charm, the piece sits comfortably within the more figurative side of Links of London design, taking a familiar animal form and translating it into a small wearable silver object. Its scale makes it easy to wear on a bracelet or necklace, while the raised trunk and textured body give it enough presence to stand out among other charms.
