A vintage Links of London silver plated bottle stopper gift set comprising two different stopper designs: a ribbed plug stopper and a rarer screw-down compression stopper. Presented with its original gift box and original dust bags, the set appears unused and remains in good clear vintage condition, with light tarnishing to the silver plate and some light marks to the stopper handles that suit its period character.

This vintage Links of London bottle stopper set brings together two distinct approaches to bottle closing within one presentation box. Made in silver plate, the set comprises a ribbed plug stopper and a screw-down compression stopper, offering both a practical drinks accessory set and a notably unusual piece of Links of London giftware. The pairing gives the set particular interest, as it presents two different stopper styles rather than a matched duplicate pair.
The ribbed plug stopper is the more familiar of the two designs, using a dark ribbed plug to create a secure push-fit seal. Alongside it sits the more unusual screw-down compression stopper, which has a more engineered appearance and a rarer feel today. That second piece gives the set much of its character, as it reflects an older style of wine and bar accessory design in which the object itself was intended to feel substantial, mechanical and gift-worthy.
As a Links of London set, it sits comfortably within the house’s broader giftware and gentleman’s accessory tradition, where useful objects were often given a more elevated treatment through material, finish and presentation. Silver plated drinks accessories like this were well suited to gifting, whether as a host present, a drinks cabinet accessory or a refined addition to a dining or bar setting. The fact that the set includes both original dust bags and its original gift box reinforces that purpose and presentation.
This example is vintage and appears to remain unused. It is, however, in original vintage condition, and the silver plate is beginning to tarnish lightly in places. There are also some light marks and scratches to the stopper handles. On the screw-down stopper in particular, the silver plating shows spots of tarnish and the finish is beginning to appear a little inconsistent in areas as it ages. That surface character suits the set well and gives it a more authentic vintage look, particularly for those who appreciate older wine and bar accessories rather than newly polished replacements. The stoppers, dust bags and box all remain in good but clearly vintage condition, preserving the set as a complete original Links of London presentation.
