This vintage Links of London dog bone charm is formed as a small sterling silver bone with black enamel detailing to each side. The shape is simple and immediately recognisable, with the rounded ends and narrowed centre giving the piece a clean, compact profile. The black enamel adds contrast to the silver surface and gives the charm a slightly playful character, while the overall form remains neat and well resolved.
The bone itself measures approximately 17mm in length and 7mm in width, with an overall length of approximately 19mm including the jump ring and an overall width of approximately 11mm including the jump ring. The charm is approximately 4mm thick. It is fitted with the standard Links of London oval bail, measuring approximately 9mm by 7mm, which will take a necklace or bracelet up to approximately 5mm wide.
This example is hallmarked LL and 925 and carries a date letter for 2011. The silver and black enamel have been professionally cleaned and polished and remain in good vintage condition. The piece retains the clear outline and contrast that define the design, with both the enamel and silver presenting well for a charm of the period.
Supplied with a split ring for Sweetie attachment, this is a versatile Links of London charm that can be worn on a bracelet, necklace or Sweetie bracelet. Its compact scale, familiar motif and contrasting enamel detail give it an easy presence within the house’s charm designs.
