This vintage Links of London necklace interprets the Sweetie motif through a lighter and more open construction than the fuller bracelet designs for which the house became especially well known. Formed as a fine sterling silver oval link chain, it features paired Sweetie links to either side and a fuller central grouping, creating a balanced front section that carries the recognisable rounded Sweetie form without turning the whole necklace into a continuous strand.
The Sweetie links each measure approximately 7mm in diameter, giving the design a neat, compact scale. The arrangement creates a clear focal point across the front of the necklace, while the finer chain keeps the overall appearance controlled and easy to wear. A central toggle-style oval link marked LINKS LONDON forms part of the design, reinforcing the structure of the necklace as well as its identity.
The necklace is adjustable in length and can be worn at approximately 45cm, 42cm, 40cm or 38cm. This gives it useful versatility in how it sits at the neck, allowing it to be worn slightly longer or closer depending on preference. The adjustable format also suits the lighter interpretation of the Sweetie design, giving the piece flexibility while retaining a distinctly Links of London character.
This example is hallmarked LL and 925 and carries a date letter for 2010. It has been professionally cleaned and polished and remains in good vintage condition. It is supplied with its original gift or storage box, which is in ok vintage condition, although the outer paper covering is peeling in places due to age as the adhesive has begun to fail. The necklace itself presents well and remains a strong example of a later Sweetie Links design translated into necklace form.
