A bold sculptural design from the original Links of London Hope collection, this Vintage Links of London Hope Bombé Dome Ring is crafted in sterling silver with a broad, smoothly rounded profile.
The ring follows the classic bombé form, swelling upwards across the finger to create a substantial domed surface before tapering towards the back of the shank.
At its widest point the ring measures approximately 15mm wide × 6mm thick. The shank narrows progressively towards the back, where it measures approximately 4mm wide × 1.3mm thick.
Rather than being solid throughout, the broad upper section uses a hollow construction with a pattern of openings visible inside the ring. This allows the design to retain its generous volume while reducing unnecessary weight.
This example is a UK size P. Inside the ring are the Links of London three-ring logo, the letter P identifying the ring size, and hallmarks LL, 925 with a date letter for 2010.
The ring has been professionally cleaned and polished and is in good vintage condition.
The term bombé describes the rounded, swelling form that gives this ring its distinctive volume.
The design rises smoothly from the sides of the shank into a broad domed top, creating the presence of a substantial statement ring without relying on gemstones, enamel or applied ornament.
Its polished surface allows the shape itself to become the central feature.
The inside of the domed section is pierced with a series of oval and circular openings.
These are largely hidden when the ring is worn, but they reveal the engineering behind the design and help reduce the weight of the broad sterling silver dome.
This allows the Hope ring to retain its generous 15mm width and 6mm depth while remaining practical as jewellery.
The ring changes considerably in scale around the finger.
At the top it reaches approximately 15mm wide, while the back narrows to approximately 4mm. The shank also reduces from the substantial domed upper section to around 1.3mm thick at its thinnest point.
That taper is important to the design, balancing the visual weight of the bombé top with a more comfortable lower shank.
Inside the ring are the Links of London three-ring device and a stamped P corresponding to the UK ring size.
It is also hallmarked LL, 925 with a date letter for 2010, securely dating this individual example.
The sterling silver has been professionally cleaned and polished and the ring is in good vintage condition.
The renewed polish highlights the smooth bombé profile while the piece remains an original vintage Links of London ring rather than newly manufactured jewellery.
